Christophe was born October 16, 1963 Bagneux, Hauts-de-Seine (Paris), France to Colette Claude Louise Boutard and Michel Joseph Léon Herblin. He grew up in the southwest of France where his love of all things food and wine flourished. He attended the L.E.P. Michel Servet cooking school in Lille, France. He then went on to work at Frederick’s Restaurant in London, Hotel Du Cap D’Antibes et Pavillon Eden Roc in Antibes France, La Voile d'Or in Lausanne, Switzerland, and then the hotel Le Royal in Luxembourg. The two then travelled to Hawaii to work together at Hyatt hotels on Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii. They came back to Canada and Christophe worked at the British Columbia Club before moving to Calgary in 1996. He went on to work at the Delta Bow Valley before beginning his career with the Glencoe Club, and the Glencoe Golf and Country Club. Christophe was a kind, generous, and gentle man who loved his family, friends, cooking, animals, motorcycles, and great food and wine. He was very much loved and will be missed by many.

In 2019, Christophe began his dream of opening his own café Croque Saveurs a French market and deli. His dream was cut short when his life was taken on March 14, 2020.
