Condolences
I attended St. Luke School in the 70's. Mr Lipoth (I never knew his first name) was our vice principal if I remember correctly. He was also my math teacher. I wasn't the best kid back in those days and I recall getting the strap and the pointer from him on more than a few occasions. Unlike some of the other teachers at that school, he took no pleasure in doling out corporal punishment to children. He did it because it was his job, and it was what was done at the time. He did an outstanding job of teaching us math and pounding the multiplication tables into us. I still remember some specific incidents in class, all good.
He was one of the best teachers I ever had, no question.
I ran into him once as an adult, my friend (and a fellow student) owned a pizza place that Mr. Lipoth visited periodically and I happened to be in the right place at the right time. I was able to tell him how much I appreciated his work and that I felt he had done me a world of good as I was growing up.
To his family, I want to say that I think that he was a great man and a great teacher; I am sure that you all knew that.
It was a privilege to have been taught by him. I still carry his memory and I always will.
Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us.
Al N.
Mr. Lipton taught me grade 6 at Meridian School in Lloydminster and both of my daughters at St. Sylvester. We all remember him as an awesome dedicated teacher and an upstanding gentleman. May he Rest In Peace.

Mr. Lipoth was my 6th grade teacher at St. Sylvester Elementary School. I was so very lucky (as well as my sister and brother) to have been taught by such a wonderful educator. Sixth grade was a memorable and formative year for me. I don't believe I would have got as far in life if it wasn't for the hard work and effort that Mr. Lipoth instilled in me. He was kind, caring, challenging and had a great sense of humor. I do remember a few pieces of chalk coming my way from time to time when I wasn't paying attention in class. I still remember many of his valuable life lessons and will always carry them with me. Rest in peace Mr. Lipoth.

Ann, Charlene and Paul: I was so sorry to hear of Ralph’s passing. It is so difficult to lose a precious and treasured member of your close knit family. It was always abundantly clear when I saw Ralph and your family together at your cabin in the Okanagan how much he loved and deeply cared about his family. I know you will all miss him dearly! I hope all your memories of him and the wonderful times you shared will help to ease your loss at such a difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Karen (Doyle) Gruman
Dear Anne, Charlene and Paul,
So many years at St. Pius X with your family. I remember the frequent privilege of serving with Ralph as one of Anne's 'Sherpas', putting up Christmas trees or setting up for Easter. He had a heart for humble service, whether with his students, at church, or with his family. Knowing his personal commitment to the truth, I believe we can say that he remains with God in eternity, hearing Jesus say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
What a blessing to have encountered Ralph on this journey of life. Our hearts are with the three of you and all Ralph's family and friends, until we can be with you in person someday soon.
With love from your friends,
Stephen and Marjorie Robinson
Ralph was like breath of fresh air every time we saw him at church;he was always cheerful to chat with you and the smile on his face was enough to make your day.
We will miss him a lot, but will always be remembered.
Treasured Memories & Love Always.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Anne, Charlene and Paul.
Ralph was a great person and a wonderful teacher. We fought hard for all our sons to have Mr. Lipoth as their Grade 6 teacher. He not only taught the basics but also threw in extras (like how to identify annuals one might plant in Calgary!) More importantly he modelled how to be a good Christian and that hard work would be rewarded.
Our family were happy recipients of his BC apples for many years! He was always friendly and interested in our lives.
Calgary Catholic was blessed to have him on staff as we and his family were blessed having known and loved him.
Mr. Lipoth was at St. Lukes all six years that I was there as a student. He was an important male role model for me during that time as his positive larger than life persona was something I needed.
He was a great man who I was able to see for years after as 'the apple man'. He would set up shop in the parking lot of our school, and my fellow staff members and I would get a chance to have a nice visit with Ralph. He will be missed. Brad Vinnell and family
Dearest Anne, Charlene and Paul,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your husband Ralph. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Ralph's passing. I'll always remember the days in the old farm house when he would toss me up in the air and the 2008 trip with all of the uncles to see the even older farmstead at Parkerview.
Like so many, he was also my grade six teacher. He did an amazing job of preparing his students for the next stage of their life (junior high). He will live on in my memories, rest in peace.
To The Family,
My deepest condolences to you all. Mr Lipoth was such an amazing teacher at St Sylvester, one of the main reasons I too became a teacher. I remember when someone asked him “ why?” his response was always “why not?” He was both challenging and caring, a true educator. He will be missed!

My condolences to Auntie Anne,Paul and Charlene Uncle Ralph was a very kind and caring man always willing to help others when the need arouse. His faith in his family and God was his main career and through his teaching career he was able to pass his beliefs and learnings on to others. We loved him in life and will continue to love him in death our Lord will look after him till we meet again in the house of God. My most remembered event with Uncle Ralph was getting up early morning gathering worms and riding in the back of his old Green GMC pickup to Beaulieu Lake and catching Rainbow Trout while he sneerly giggled while smoking his pipe. You will be missed by many Love John,Gail and Our Family
Anne,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Thank you for all the memories over the years.
Love,as always,
Marguerite
I remember my uncle as a smart and gentle soul. It warms my heart to think of the time he surprised us with a visit when my first child arrived (Sierra). He drove up to Edmonton from Calgary and stopped in to visit my mom, myself and baby. I still have a picture of him holding her. Precious.
Charlene and family, offering condolences from my family. I remember your Dad with fond memories.
Sincerely, Andrea Iervella (nee Dzieciuch)
Very sorry for your loss! I was the youngest of 6 Kids that would have had him as a
teacher at St. Luke's School. Hard to forget him as a Teacher. He touched a lot of lives
during his years in the Catholic School System. Thoughts and Prayers are with you at this time.

I was so fortunate to work with Ralph from 1990 to 1992. Such a kind, caring and capable teacher! He kept us all supplied with apples from the Okanagan for many years after our days at St. Sylvester. To Anne, Charlene and Paul, I know you all have a huge hole in your heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in Peace, Ralph. You'll be missed.
My deepest condolences for you husband/father. Mr. Lipoth was a teacher, coach and friend. I have many fond memories of our trip to Fort Errie/Kalamazoo for ball. Hugs to you all

I am so sorry to hear of Mr.Lipoth's passing. Sending our deepest sympathies to his family. Mr.Lipoth was a master teacher and a genuine, kind man who cared deeply for all his students. My brothers and I were so fortunate to all have him as our grade 6 teacher at St.Syvester. I'll never forget how he'd throw a tennis ball when you'd least expect it in class to make sure you were listening! God help you if you didn't catch that ball! May he rest in peace. Sending much love to all of his family.❤

So sorry for the loss of your dear husband and father. I taught with Ralph at St. Sylvester School and have many fond memories of him. I know that staff and students loved him very much! May sweet memories and prayers and hugs sent your way provide some comfort during this difficult time. ❤️
Dear Anne, Paul and Charlene,
It is with very heavy and sad hearts we express our deepest sympathies to you on the passing of your precious husband and father. Having been your neighbours for 50 years, we have grown to love and cherish Ralph for the warm and kind person he was. Many times we have seen him meticulously clip the edges of the lawn, help a neighbour, sweetly wave to our little granddaughters, and heard him express his thankfulness to God for his family, which he cherished so dearly!
It is amazing how much love he had in his heart!
We are praying that God will strengthen and sustain each of you at this difficult time.
Love,
Alan and Marian.
Anne, Charlene and Paul,
It is with great sadness that I hear about Ralph’s passing. Some how it seems like this would be Ralph’s perfect timing so there was no fuss about him. I have fond memories of teaching with Ralph at St. Sylvester where he was respected by colleagues, parents and students. Heaven has gained a good man. God bless you all ! Joanne and Ted Brown
Praying that God will comfort you: Anne, Charlene and Paul, in this difficult time. May the Lord uplift your spirit and carry you to a peaceful place in your heart. My deepest sympathy and condolences.

Sincere condolences to the Lipoth family. Sending a big hug to Anne and Charlene. Blessings and prayers from me and my boys.
I was a grade 6 student of Mr. Lipoth's at St. Sylvester. He will forever be one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. I will always remember when Mr. Lipoth tried to teach health (it was human sexuality). Her drew a picture on the chalk board to start explaining anatomy...it looked like a cows head. 27 years later, I'm still not sure what he was drawing because he stopped the lesson and we went outside to play soccer softball. No more health class with Mr. Lipoth after that, lol! Years later I would become a nurse and see this great man again and I was giving him his flu shot. We had such a great visit...forever in my memory and heart! Sincere condolences and prayers to the family. RIP Mr. Lipoth, heaven got one of the greatest humans of all time! ❤ Krista Rust (the last Sandrelli kid)
Condolences to Ralph's family. He was always welcome subbing many times at St Bede. He became the"Apple Guy" to staff where he would take orders and show up in the parking lot with our deliveries. Had many great conversations with him about teaching, sports and any topic that came up.
Rest easy my friend!
Grade 6 at St. Sylvester was one of my most memorable years of school, taught by one of my most memorable teachers. God bless Mr. Lipoth... My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
I was a student of Mr. Lipoth during my grades 5 and 6 years at St. Luke Elementary. He was an outstanding educator whom I will never forget. My sincere condolences.

I knew Ralph for many years as a colleague in the Catholic School System. He was always highly respected as a teacher and administrator. I was privileged to have all three of my children benefit from his expertise as they attended St. Luke's. He will be missed by many but most especially by Anne and his children. My condolences to Anne and family and the West family on their loss. May Ralph rest in peace. He was most certainly a good and faithful servant. I grieve!

Dear Ann, Charlene and Paul,
These are difficult times for you and I pray that you find strength in knowing that he is with our Lord. God bless you and keep you safe. Take care.. Colleen Moretti
Our condolences to all of the family of Ralph Lipoth. He was a very special man. He had a significant influence on the lives of our three sons, and yes it was in Grade 6. We thank him for that.
We have been lucky to have several conversations in recent year reminiscing about the good political discussions we had around the topic introduced as "Mr.Lipoth says....' and Ralph always had a good laugh.
Our prayers and sympathies to the family of Ralph especially, Anne, Charlene and Paul as we all say good bye to a man who lived a good life and impacted many..
June and Bill Bergman
Anne and family,
May your sadness be softened by wonderful memories.
You have shared a life time of Ralph’ journey which showed us he used his time well while here.
May he be at peace.

We are thinking of you at this time! Our hugs and condolences to your family. We are thankful to have had Uncle Ralph's gentle and friendly spirit in our lives. He shared many stories and experiences with us and was a great audience for our adventures and stories. He always had a warm hug and a big smile to greet us whenever we visited even if much time had passed between visits. He will be missed.
Love to you all,
Karen, Rob and Mia
To the Lipoths:
Ralph was a kind and friendly person. I didn't get to know him until the last couple years but he was always smiling and happy to go out with "the boys," for a coffee or a lunch. Everytime I visited Calgary the Lipoths opened their home and hearts to me.
I am extremely disappointed that I will not be seeing him when I visit shortly and sad that I will not be able to go to his celebration of life.
Alex MacKay
Our condolences to you Anne, Charlene and Paul. We will miss Ralph's smile and willingness to share every time we met him.
It will be strange to see you three without Ralph around as you were such a team. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
God Bless you in His own special way! Love, Isabelle and Erwin Wirch
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all Aunty Anne, Paul and Charlene. Uncle Ralph loved his hats! In these most recent years, he never went anywhere without his hat! As a young child, I also loved him most for his sense of fun, play and humor! He carried it everywhere he went! I will hold these memories dear to my heart! Love, hugs and kisses your way, from a distance! Jo-Anne and Donald and Family
