Anne BRYANT

Obituary of Anne Louise BRYANT

April 1, 1924 – Calgary, Alberta

February 20, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Anne Bryant, of Calgary, AB, passed away at age 95 on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Her loving daughter, Leigh-Anne, was with her as she transitioned from this mortal coil.

The firstborn to Frederick Ostrom and Elisabeth Ostrom (nee Clark), Anne lived in Calgary for most of her life, with a brief stint in Cochrane in the mid-'70s. Anne was very active with Home and School committees, and the school cafeteria at Queen Elizabeth School, where her children attended for twelve years. During these years, Anne was well known for her chocolate chip cookies, and there was nearly always a collection of teenagers in the kitchen. For many years, Wednesday evening found her at Sewing Club, affectionately dubbed Stitch ‘n’ Bitch. While living in Cochrane, Anne was most involved with the Nan Boothby Library as a Librarian. Books, knitting, sewing, and gardening were always great loves, along with photography adventures with her husband, Bus. When Anne and Bus moved back to Calgary, Anne became very involved with the Fit Over Fifty exercise group at Riverside Towers. For twenty-seven years, Anne attended several times each week; she loved her fitness and coffee friends!

She is survived by her “darling daughter” Leigh-Anne, “special son” James, her sister Winifred Buchannon, niece Shari Stratton and nephew Greg Buchannon. Anne was predeceased by her son Wayne (James) in 1996, her husband Clarence (aka Bus) in 1998, and her mother Elisabeth Bryant (2000).

Celebration of Life details will be published at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Anne’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
