Condolences
Dear Laura, Nik and Jordan,
My sincere and deepest sympathy for your sad and heartbreaking loss. I will always remember Tim being so upbeat and positive when I'd drop by to pick up my usual large Cheese or Hawaiian Pizza at the Bearspaw Market. Just a wonderful charismatic individual. I remember taking a dance class with your dad years ago at the U of C. I think it might have been a Jazz class - can't remember. That was back in around 1981. I also enjoyed meeting both your parents when I was teaching at Bearspaw School, and had Jordan in Grade 1. Again, my deepest sympathy and extended prayers for all your family.
Sincerely,
Maureen Marston and Family
I will always remember Tim when he arrived at the Stampeders training camp when he was a "rookie". He had a fantastic sparkle in his eyes, a look of innocent wonder and disbelief that he was actually becoming a professional in the CFL. As time went on, he proved himself as the consummate teammate, willing to do anything within his ability to help the team win. And the reality was, he was a "winner" on and off the field.
Our heartfelt condolences to all of the family.

I worked and socialised with Tim for many years. I am fortunate to have known Tim. He was a man of character, humility and strength. Always caring and considerate. Generous and kind in a way that most others can only aspire to be. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Laura and Nik and Mark and all the Petros family. We have lost a very special person in our lives. Tim will always be remembered and will continue warm our hearts when we think of him.
My deepest condolences to the entire Petros family in this time.
I was a friend of Tim’s thru high school at JGD and have many fond memories of that time in life when things were simple.
I played with Tim on the football team and always remember him as one of the most devoted players, also ran on the track sprints team with Tim, Craig Mason, Tim Mar and myself Neil Brown and in the 4x100m we were unbeatable.... at least that’s the way I remember it.
We had a wonderful time training and running together always trying to beat each other. Tim was as you all know the true athlete of the bunch.
Another memory with Tim was summers at the outdoor city swimming pool sitting in the sun and talking about our dreams for the future. Tim’s dreams came true thru his hard work ethic, that I think his dad Nick gave him , and the fact that Tim was a truly wonderful person in every way. He will be missed by all that knew him.

I’ve been employed at Nicks SteakHouse for a super long time. Have had the privilege of getting to know the entire Petros family on a personal level. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family but especially to Laura, Nick and Jordan. A sad time, I never met a more genuine man than Tim. He was always full of positive energy and ideas. He will be sorely missed, the world is lessened without him in it.
RIP Tiim,
Eric Zimmerman
We’re so very sorry to hear of your sad loss. While we didn’t know Tim well, we enjoyed sampling Tim’s Gourmet Pizza at the Bearspaw market and also at his restaurant in Cochrane.
He will be missed. Take good care.
the Montgomery family wish to express our condolences to Tim's family but also to Nick, and Kim and Marc and the whole Petros clan. We remember Tim from his days as a highland dancer with the Bergeron family and enjoyed our relationship with the Petros and Ross families.Tim was a larger then life character, much like his father and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Rick and Sue Montgomery and family
My deepest condolences to the Petros family. Tim and I played football at Dief. The "Greasy Greek" impossible to hit and if you did it hurt you more then him. More importantly he would pull your ass out of the mud, slap you on the ass and say good tackle. He was the best high school football player in Calgary at the time but more importantly the most humble kid you could ever meet. Not an easy thing when you are 17/18.
I ran into him a half dozen times at Kalamata, still the same Tim, firm hand shake and big smile. He was a very unique individual. RIP Tim, only the good die young!
Nik,
We are truly sorry for your terrible loss. Losing a child is heartbreaking. Our heart aches for you and your family

On behalf of the Bearspaw Lions Club, please accept our condolences on the passing of Tim. Several of our club members knew him through the Farmers Market where he was a vendor. He was well liked by our members, the other vendors and the customers.
Tim stayed with my family and I when he visited Australia with my cousin back in 1989. We struck up an instant friendship and shared some great times here in Melbourne. The photo of him running on the beach was taken by my brother who was a photographer for one of our leading newspapers at the time and it ran with a story about Tim and his football career. I then spent some time with Tim when I lived in Calgary in ‘91 and my favourite memory was the day we spent drifting down the Bow River from high up in the mountains down to the city - fishing, having a few beers and sharing stories. He caught a couple of great Salmon that day, I still have the photos. Tim is one of the nicest, funniest, most genuine people I’ve ever met and though we didn’t actually spend a lot of time together, the memories of what we did are some of the fondest that I have. To this day I still have his Stampeders playing jersey that he gave me hanging in my gym at home. My sincere condolences to Laura, Nik, Jordan and his family. The world lost another of the really good ones.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Tim’s passing.
Jim and I had a wonderful connection with the Petros family over the years. They meant and continue to mean a lot to me and my family in so many different ways. They have always been there for us. My heart goes out to everyone in the Petros family. It is so difficult when someone passes suddenly, unexpectedly and at such a young age. I remember with joy attending Tim’s wedding with all the Greek dancing and smashing of plates. We also bought pizza from Tim at the market from time to time.
Sending you my love and sincere condolences,
Karen Prentice and family
It’s always so very difficult for those of us who remain after having lost a loved one but God promises us that we will be re-united once again with those who have gone before us. Be comforted by his word and remain faithful.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Petros family today as they struggle with their grief. We will treasure the memories of having known Tim.

Our deepest condolences to you all. Although so little can be said at a time like this, hope you know that many thoughts are with you. So sorry for your loss.
On behalf of the Sakires family we are deeply saddened by the news of Tim’s passing. Tim was one tough Greek, we were so proud of his accomplishments. From sitting with proud Dad Nick and Mom Joan at the Dino’s and Stamps games, to attending Weddings together and eating the at the famous family restaurant, “Nick’s Steakhouse”. When we think of Nick’s Steakhouse, we think of a beautiful place with family spirit, Nick, Joan, Tim, Mark, Kim and the entire Petros family.
There is a big playing field in heaven for Tim. We know Tim will break records for God’s team.
God Bless Tim and God Bless us all,
Denny, Darlene and the Sakires family
Our condolences to both Tim’s immediate family and the entire Petros clan as well. For years we enjoyed not only buying pizza from Tim at the multitude of food markets he serviced, but also taking the time to chat with him at length even when the weather was inclement. Tim was always gracious with anyone and everyone he served, including us, and never expressed an unkind word - always greeting and welcoming people with a smile. The Petros name is well established in Calgary, and Tim’s contributions serving his community (in many facets) have its rightful place. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this unfortunate loss.
