Obituary of Dorothy (Dolly) Bower BACHMEIER (nee McCormick)

October 1, 1926 - Onoway, Alberta

March 30, 2020 – Didsbury, Alberta

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Dorothy (Dolly) Bachmeier announce her passing on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the age of 93 years.

Dolly was born in Onoway and raised in Calgary, AB.  She fell in love at a young age with her loving husband, Joseph Bachmeier. They were blessed with six children, three boys and three girls, Garry (Susan) Bachmeier, Leron (Hildie) Bachmeier, Carol (Terry) Parsons, Maurice (Patsy) Bachmeier, Linda (Glen) Clarke, and Rosalie (Frank) McKnight. Along with her children, Dolly leaves behind fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and her brothers and sisters.

Dolly was such a hard worker, a great cook, loved her garden and flowers and was a passionate shopper ~ she enjoyed lovely things and found great pleasure in window shopping. She treasured the visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to a brief Visitation at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, April 9, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. With the current restrictions on the size of gatherings due to Covid-19, once you have expressed your condolences to the family please allow others their time. A private family graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life of Dolly’s Life will be held at a later date.
