Condolences
Diane and family, so sorry for your loss. My family and I still share memories of our family dinner in Calgary (being late) and up here at West Ed Mall. Sending our prayers Jamie, Sarah, Jeffrey and Jenna Lindsay.
To the entire family/friends of Jim. Just found out about our dear cousin Jim, from the entire Murray family in Windsor, Ontario please accept our sincerest and deepest condolences. After Jim left on his scholly we kind of lost track of him but received updates every now /then from Patricia on how everyone was doing. Jim's father Red came to Windsor with my dad Bob to work in the factories for a better quality of life, he was my godfather and seemingly always bought a pizza once a month when visiting my dad, one great guy too. To his family so sorry we never got to meet, I can tell you his athletic ability was off the charts, we played sports together for many years and usually on winning Ontario championship teams. I could go on forever. We sure hope the awesome memories gets everyone through this difficult time. Jim was very close to the Ziraida/Russ families in Windsor. Best wishes to all.
Respectfully
Bobby Murray

It is with great sadness that we learned today of Jim's passing. Jim was a great ambassador of the "Close" where he and Mika held court on a daily basis. He was always willing to have a chat about sports, current events and family. The Flames defence was of particular concern these last couple of years. He will surely be missed by all who knew him. Our hearts go out to his family.

I just wanted to pass on my condolences to the family of Jim McCaffrey. I was a childhood friend of Jimmy's from the east side neighbourhood of Laurendeau and High Street in Windsor where we grew up.
As a kid, I remember Jimmy as gutsy, street-smart, athletic, and always a competitor, whether it was playing the neighbourhood game he invented and coined 'Speedy Gonzales', or playing strikeout against the Semtec factory building down the street from his place, or back-yard basketball at my place, or lifting weights in the unused store front of his home on Laurendeau to see who could bench press the most.
He is fondly remembered. Rest in peace Jim.
Lorne Russ
Leslie and I send our condolences to Diane and the McCaffrey family. We can’t imagine how devastating this unexpected loss must be.
Jim was always a great friend as well as a business colleague. We had so many good times travelling to several Grey Cups. There was never any shortage of conversation and laughs as we regularly met over a pint to catch up on news and family.
Jim was a kind and loving man who will be greatly missed. Jim, you left us far too soon.
Memories of going to events where our children were a part of.
Watching our families grow and making new friends in the process. Jim was always willing to offer his help and we enjoyed many great laughs and memories. Dave and Kyle will always cherish the times spent on the Football fields and hockey rinks. Jim always made playing sports fun and will always be remembered.
Our deepest condolences to Diane, Sara, Michelle and Mark and their families.
You are in our hearts and prayers.

Diane and family.
Please accept our deepest condolences on your family's loss. We are all in shock as your family must all be. We hope your family can take some comfort knowing how well loved and respected Jim was as a person. He certainly will be missed by our family.
I can remember attending a Stampede event at one of the downtown hotel's convention centers. My friend (Sean) and I are just 18 or 19 years old. The hall is packed, not a table in sight, and we are waiting for Jimmy Mac to arrive. We are calling and calling Jim and Mary's place....."Where is Jimmy Mac, where is Jimmy Mac?"...we keep saying. We can't find a place to sit, maybe we are too young, maybe too shy.....in walks Jimmy Mac. With the big grin and contagious laughter, within seconds, we have a table and more beer than I think we would ever need. Diane, you picked the three of us up and took us back to your house where even more funny times occurred, Sean falling down the stairs and pinning the door closed......Those memories were from 1987 or 1988. I remember them now as if they just happened. It always brings a smile to my face.
Our family enjoyed many visits to calgary over the years, and thoroughly enjoyed our visits with Jim, whether talking about sports, current events, or just sitting silently and having a beer.
Rest in peace Jim. You will be missed by many. Love from Kevin, Maria, Nicholas, Matthew and Trudean Purdy (your BC buddies)
Diane and family, Walter and I were shocked and remain deeply saddened by Jim's sudden passing. Our thoughts are with you at this very difficult and heart-breaking time. Walter and I fondly remember dinners with Diane and Jim, celebrating both our anniversary and Diane's birthday. These times will remain forever in our memories. Love to all.
Diane and family:
I was shocked as many are to hear of Jim’s passing. We grew up together in Windsor (Ford City) and I have many fond memories of Jim. I remember the shock of his Dad’s passing like it was yesterday and our hearts went out to him then as ours go out to you now.
I hope you will find peace in time and know that he touched many lives and that his memory will be eternal.

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I am still in shock as you must all be. As I reflect on the good times shared with Jimmy Mac, I take solace in those memories. I reflect fondly on the trip to Mexico & California in the early 80s with the “boys”, the Steeler football days, the Stampede shenanigans, and the laughs enjoyed while chatting over a few brews. I hope you and your family can take some comfort knowing how well liked & respected Jim was as a person. He will be missed. Jimmy, Rest In Peace my old friend.

Diane and family. We were shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Lisa and I are truly sorry for the loss of Jim. He was a true friend who was a larger than life guy who filled up a room when he entered. We lived together for three years during our University days and the memories from those years are monumental. The pranks, the parties, the music, the drinks and friendships we made are unforgettable. The last time he was in Windsor, we all got together, as usual to reminisce and it was like Jimmy was right back in his element. The stories started and it was priceless to see Marks expression as he heard some of our college days shenanigans. He'd come home from work or school and as soon as he walked in the door he'd yell "let's get rowdy" The stereo would go on, beers would be opened and the party would begin. He liked to crank up three or four favorites. The Cars, Cheap Trick, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Head East. He'll be sorely missed and our deepest condolences to Diane, the kids and grandchildren.
When I lived with Jim in Calgary, we planned a helicopter hike in the mountains. Also tagging along was Pete Ziraida and his friend. It was a 2 day trip into the mountains and unfortunately planning was not a strong suit for any of us. So off we go into the helicopter. The only thing Jim ever worried about on these trips was, bears. He always carried a small ax with him for protection in case he was attacked (good luck!!!). Once in the helicopter he asked the pilot if there were any bears in the area we were going and the pilot's response was, no. It wasn't 2 minutes later when Jim spotted a mother and her cub out the window of the helicopter. Once on the ground we reached the cabin in the middle of the mountains, I asked, who was in charge of bringing the food. Silence followed. We checked our back packs and all everyone carried was BEER and liquor. It was supposed to take us 2 days to hike out. Jim, never one to worry. He said "we will just drink all beer tonight and hike 20 miles out in the morning, since the back packs will be much lighter". It was the start of the Calgary stampede the next day and he wanted to attend. So when all the beers were consumed that night, we woke up the next day to start our most difficult hike ever. After finally making it out and making it home, we stopped at a bar and the trip continued. Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. I was so glad to meet your son Mark on a visit here. Even though we did not see one another often enough once I moved back to Windsor,he will always be remembered as a great friend and I was fortunate to have that Thoughts and prayers Gary Leslie (CHANGE) and Linda
