Obituary of Betty Irene GURR

December 20, 1944 – Kent, England
April 4, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Irene Gurr on April 4th, 2020 at the age of 75 years old. She had a challenging four years since being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia.

Betty was born in Strood, Kent, England and immigrated to Calgary in 1981. She developed a love for the outdoors which included camping, fishing, and gardening. Other things that she loved to do were knitting, dancing especially the jive with our dad, watching Coronation Street, and sharing good times with family and friends at the ranch. It’s our hope that on her journey she will be with our dad, Peter and still enjoying the things she loved to do.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters Maxine and Sharon; grandchildren, Riana, Aaron and Zoe; Marion and John (sister and brother-in-law); and close friends of the family in the UK and in Canada.

Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Peter of fifty-three years

Our deepest thanks go out to Bethany Riverview (Lakeshore Unit) for giving her the best care and love possible.
