Obituary of Harold Raymond PRICE

Harold (Shorty) Price, beloved husband of Doreen Price (nee Hendrickson) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the age of 82 years.

Shorty worked for BJ Hughes Services Ltd. and BJ Titan Services (Canada) Ltd. (collectively “BJ Services Canada”) for thirty-three years, his last position held was as President. Following BJ Services Canada, he worked for National Oil Well Maintenance Co. as Operations Manager, and Thermo Star Products Ltd. as President. Through his work he travelled and lived in Canada, Australia, England, Norway, Scotland and Qatar. When he retired from the oil and gas industry in 1993 he pursued his passion for playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. Shorty played golf in every Province in Canada and in many countries around the world. Shorty was a member for many years at Wentworth Golf Club, UK, Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, and Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club (served as a Director). He was also a member of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada, the Calgary Petroleum Club and The Calgary Gyro Club (served as a Director). 

The most important thing to Shorty was his family. He loved coaching his sons in ice-hockey, watching his sons play soccer, cheering on and supporting his daughter in figure skating and other adventures, playing golf with his kids and grandkids, and he loved every minute when he was with his wife, kids and grandkids spending birthdays, holidays and summer vacations together. They were the apple of his eye. 

Besides his loving wife, Doreen of sixty-three years, Shorty is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Don Boehk), sons, Marty (Sue), Kevin (Wenming), Darren (Linda) and Ken (Johanna); granddaughters, Shylah (Blayne), Gillian (Matt), and Temple; and grandsons, Jordon (Catie), Keegan, Conor and Kenny. Shorty is also survived by his brothers, Stan (Angele), Marv (Lee), Ronald, Kelly (Becky); sisters, Audrey (John) and Sherry (Stan); sisters-in-law, Janette and Joyce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  

Shorty was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Bertha (nee McCallister); brothers, Kenneth and Denis.
