Obituary of Lorne Clifford HEMMING

April 5, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta
Lorne Hemming of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
Lorne was born in Whitewood, SK, and was raised on a nearby farm. He enjoyed growing up in a family and community with deep European roots and remained proud of his Finnish ancestry. Lorne started his own family in Lethbridge and at one time operated a moving company with his brother. He later farmed west of Edmonton before settling in Calgary in 1969. Lorne loved dancing, socializing, playing cards, and reading his Saskatchewan newspaper. He liked a good laugh and could tell a good story. In his later years, Lorne was a well-liked resident of his retirement community, where he enjoyed all of the available social activities.
Lorne is survived by his daughters, Linda and Laura; sons, Francis, Rene and Vern; and grandchildren, Ryan and Leia.
He was predeceased by parents Adolf and Hannah; brothers, William and Stan; sister Bernice; former spouse Jeannette; and sons Rodney, Gerald and Keith.
