Obituary of Doreen JONES

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the quiet passing of our mother, Doreen Jones of Calgary, AB, on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the age of 90 years.
Doreen was born and grew to a young woman here in Calgary. She was athletic and when she was young, she loved wintertime skating and barrel jumping. The summers were spent on her grandfather’s ranch north of Cochrane, riding with the cowhands and working with the cattle. Although Doreen moved to Edmonton and later Drayton Valley, she always felt Calgary was her true home. She lived life to the fullest and on her own terms.
Doreen is survived by her two daughters, Christine Vanderputten (Ross), and Karen Bieber (Dennis Brucker); grandchildren, Ryan Vanderputten (Sarah), Alicia Hobbs (Christopher), Daniel Bieber (Ashley), David Bieber (Eva); and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother James Taylor, sister Marilynne Lambert and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Jones in 2007.
