Obituary of Elizabeth PATERSON

July 26, 1927 – Glasgow, Scotland April 15, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Elizabeth (Betty) Paterson of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Betty was born on July 26, 1927 in Glasgow, Scotland to James and Sarah Calder. She was the middle of five children. Betty married John on July 15, 1949 and they immigrated to Canada in April 1972 and she worked at Cedar Villa Nursing Home until she retired. John passed away in 1977. Later, Betty was lucky enough to find companionship with James Tucker who sadly also predeceased her. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Gordon Rennie; her granddaughter Lisa Rennie; her brother and sister-in-law, Stewart and Margaret Calder, their family in Long Island, NY; her sister Jean Jess of Glasgow, Scotland. She is also survived by nieces, Barb (Daryll) Greene of Claresholm, AB, Heather (Aldon) Wells of Chestermere, AB, Olive (Timmy) Bourne of Long Island, NY and Jean (Bob) Romano of Long Island, NY; her nephew Jim Calder of Long Island, NY; as well as many extended family and friends. Betty was predeceased by her husband John Paterson (1977); her companion James Tucker (2006); her parents, James and Sarah Calder; and her two older brothers, James and John Calder.
