Tony is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 44 years- Lana Wong; his son Justin, daughter Jessica & her husband Daniel Prichard and grandsons Bryson and Liam; his sister Anita; brother Ian; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews all miss him dearly.

Born in a Toi Shan, China, on August 28, 1950, he was one of 6 children born to predeceased father, Ka Chieng Wong & mother Yue Ho Ma. He was also predeceased by his brothers Genero (Vivian) and Herman. He moved to Hong Kong at a young age and later immigrated to Canada in 1971 settling in Calgary, Alberta where he later met his wife.

He spent much of his life in Canada working in the restaurant business where he started in the kitchen as a chef and through his tenacity, dedication and strong sense of loyalty this led him to become a joint partner at Silver Gate restaurant.  Later, he and his brothers joined together to start up their own business and ran a highly successful Chinese restaurant called Flamingo Palace for over 20 years. The latter years of his life took him to join his brother Genero in the exotic seafood import/export business in California & Mexico where he carried on with building more great friendships and business contacts across the border with the help of his outgoing and friendly nature & great business acumen.

Tony was a devoted family man and an amazing & dependable friend to many. He was uncompromising in his early vision of building a prosperous life for his family. His self-sacrificing, selfless ways and hard-working nature gave them a wonderful life filled with opportunities and happiness. He will always be remembered for the love and kindness that he showed through his actions to all that knew him.

Tony’s character is best characterized as a man of strong traditional family values, hard-working ethics in everything he did and had the purest of human kindness & respect for people in all walks of life. He approached life with a light-hearted spirit and always came into a room with that vibrant smile we will never forget. His legacy will live on in those he left behind to grieve. Tony will forever be missed, never forgotten and lovingly in our hearts always.
