Obituary of Jerrilyn Elizabeth MARGETTS

July 26, 1949 – Red Deer, Alberta
April 9, 2020 - Calgary, Alberta

Jerrilyn very beloved wife of Nels Margetts, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the age of 70 years.

Jerrilyn worked at various oil companies and at Calgary EMS. She enjoyed walking, dogs, being with friends, and loved having tea parties. She also loved participating in any activities with her grandchildren.

Jerrilyn described herself a “Spring Chicken”, took every opportunity to travel, always looked on the Brightside, and lovingly gave to others without expectations. Two of her favorite trips were to Paris and New York City with her special friend Donna.

Besides her loving husband, Jerrilyn is survived by her three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Griffyn and Cicelly Margetts; sister Judy and Everett Cochrane; brothers Dan and Marymae Goldstrom  and Les and Brenda Goldstrom; daughter-in-law Penny Shanks; step-father Gene Volk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and  friends. Jerrilyn was predeceased by her mother Victoria Volk; her  father and mother in-law Gerry and Betty Margetts; and her children, Cathryn on May 25, 2004 and Shaun on March 8, 2010.  

A Celebration of Jerrilyn's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel Of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Margetts’ service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. The family wishes to extend a thank you to all the staff at the Bow View Manor for the care they provided to Jerrilyn. As well as a thank you to all the friends and family that helped and supported Jerrilyn and Nels in this time.

Jerrilyn shared a love for dogs with her daughter Cathryn.
