April 3, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta
Our Dad passed away in his sleep on April 3, 2020 after several years of declining health. He is now rejoicing with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is finally free from his suffering.
Dad lived his whole life in Alberta, the first half grain farming in Grassy Lake, and then attaining his Master’s Degree from the University of Calgary in the 1960s, and teaching school for the remainder of his working career. He was always a bookworm and loved studying, learning and teaching others.
He is survived by his wife Suzi (nee Pankratz); five children, Dennis (Maria) of Sorrento, BC, Wayne of Edmonton, AB, Bob (Shelley) of St. Rose, MB, Carol Regehr (Clint) of San Diego, CA, and Pattie Menzies (Greg) of Calgary, AB; and a sister Katherine Heppner of Abbotsford, BC. He was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his first wife Erna in 1999.
Dad’s interment service was held on Thursday, April 9, 2020 with his daughter Pattie and her family in attendance. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer when travel is again possible. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on John’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
