Obituary of Thomas DOBBIN

Thomas “Hugh” Dobbin of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
Hugh was born and raised in Calgary, AB. He graduated from Crescent Heights High School and went on to earn a degree in Economics from the U of A. He was a member of the DKE Society and volunteered with McDonald’s Organization. Hugh was a Landman with Pan Canadian until his retirement at sixty, after; he consulted with Dobbin Ventures until the age of eighty.
Hugh accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of when he sang to Queen Elizabeth II while attending the U of A.
He loved to ski and hike, travel with family and read books with a passion. His most memorable vacations were the three trips he and his wife Shirley took to Africa.
Hugh will be remembered for his quiet, kind and caring nature that disguised a strong fortitude for "hunkering down and getting things done."
Hugh is survived by his daughters, Marci Cameron of White Rock, BC; and Whitney Dobbin of Vancouver, BC; and two grandchildren, Andre Dobbin of Calgary, AB and Chloe Lambert of Pemberton, BC.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Mae Georgina Dobbin.
