Obituary of Linda Marie ROBERTSHAW

January 23, 1951 - Hamilton, Ontario

April 14, 2020 – Cochrane, Alberta

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Linda Marie Robertshaw of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

She took her last breath at home, surrounded by her family after a challenging and difficult battle with Sjogren’s syndrome, Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis and numerous other complications. Courage is not defined by a roar but by the silence as dawn breaks on a new morning and the hope that today would be a better day. Linda lived every day with that hope and courage. Linda was a natural sales person who excelled from ladies fashion to car sales. She was known for her positive outlook on life, her infectious laugh and warm smile. She immediately made people feel comfortable around her and easily made many friends. Her passions ranged from hockey and her Calgary Flames to Nascar. A season ticket holder and attendance at many a race. In retirement, travel was pursued with many a trip to the Hawaiian Islands, attendance at preferred musical concerts, camping and cross country motorhome excursions but Maui remained her favorite. Many a day was spent at her retirement home with the serenity provided on the side of a mountain facing west overlooking Columbia Lake in BC.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Don of thirty-eight years, and her children, Tina (Ryan) of Hamilton, Bryan (Jesse) of Calgary, Blair (Katie) of Water Valley and Bradley also of Calgary and her seven beloved grandchildren, Clayton, Erika, Braeden, Jolene, Mya, Isabelle and Keanna. Linda’s greatest gift was to be a loving and nurturing grandmother ever providing affection and developing a special relationship with each one. She will be fondly remembered by family, a special cousin, longtime friend Sheila and numerous lifetime friends. She is also survived by her brothers, Leonard (Cathy) and Joseph (Lora) of Ancaster, Ontario and their children. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Gladys Blair and her daughter Sherry of Hamilton. We will all treasure her memory forever.

Over the years, Linda was always grateful, along with her family, for the unending support provided by the health care professionals that took care of her on this journey. A special and sincere thank you to Dr. Richard Leigh at Foothills and Dr. Rick Ward and his staff at Crowfoot Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later time. Donations, if you so desire, can be made to your favorite charity.
