Obituary of Helen Rosely TALBOT

April 17, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Helen Talbot, beloved wife of Jack Talbot of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at the age of 82 years.

Helen was born in Rockglen, SK on April 6, 1938. Her family lived there until she was six and then moved to their family farm west of Gleichen, AB. After graduating from Cluny High School, Helen worked at a local bank until she married her husband Jack in 1956. 

Helen worked at the local Acadia TomBoy Grocery store in Calgary until her children graduated high school, then for twenty years at the Silver Dollar Bowl. She and Jack retired in 1991, and over the next twenty-eight years they travelled and enjoyed their winter home in Yuma, Arizona.

Helen is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Jack. She loved her children dearly and she will be sadly missed by her three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sharon, Don and Marilyn and Doug and Carla; her daughter Colleen, and her seven grandchildren, Danielle, Jeff, Kyle, Haley, Kelsey, Ryan and Amanda.  In addition, Helen leaves behind her two brothers and sister-in-law, Gerald and Robert and Karen; her sister Elvina and a large extended family.  She was predeceased by her parents, Eva and Elvin Barstad; and her nine brothers, Mel, Bud, Duane, Errol, Donald, Len, Fred, Ron and Gord. 

A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held at a later date.
