Obituary of Kevin John KLEMENT

Kevin John Klement passed away peacefully on April 21, 2020 at Foothills Medical Centre. He was 58 years old. He joined his mother Elsie Klement (nee Smoliak) and his father John Klement in a better place. There, Kevin could wrap his loving arms around his Mum and Dad again and finally stretch his legs once more.

Kevin was born and raised in Calgary and graduated from Ernest Manning High School in 1979. He started his career working for CP Rail at Alyth Yard where he was known as a hard worker and a reliable friend to his co-workers. After CP, Kevin taught himself computer programming and web design. It was a field in which he demonstrated true talent, had an astonishing expertise and for which he had much enthusiasm.  He expertly operated the Gypsy BBS from 1994 through 2009. However, Kevin’s greatest accomplishment was living a meaningful, independent life for thirty-three years under extremely challenging physical circumstances. We are all in awe of his courage and tenacity. His triumph over adversity is an example for us all.

Kevin is fondly remembered by his sister, Michelle Klement, his brother-in-law Terence Gannon and his very good friends, Cindy Nagata-McMillan and Bryan McMillan all of Calgary along with aunts, uncles and cousins around the globe. We are all honoured and glad to have known him and to have had him in our lives.
