Obituary of Carol Joan BRUVALL EINARSON

Carol Joan Bruvall Einarson Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2020, age 81.
Loving mother to Laurie Ann (Joe Armstrong) Bruvall, and James Thomas(Shauna) Bruvall; beloved grandmother, to James Richard, Shaundra and Shyla Bruvall, Coltanna High (Rance), Jake, Lilja (Alex Goldfarb) and David Armstrong, Levon (Jasmine) and Ethan MacKillop; great-grandmother to Kara, Jack, Oliver, Ella, and Dylan MacKillop, and Liam McKinnon-Bruvall; much loved sister to Dorothy Shields and Linda Delamere; dear aunt to Randy Shields, Brenda McArthur, Kristjana Hawthorne (Dan), Michael Einarson, Tyler Reid (Kristy), Lisa Smith (Ed) and Michelyn Hagen (Neil); great-aunt to Erin (Jay Reutcky), McArthur, Sam, Jack and Dylan Reutcky, Lilja, Charlotte and Nathan Reid. Carol was predeceased by son, Keith Richard Bruvall (MacKillop); parents, Lilja Olafia and Olafur Johann Einarson; parents-in-law, Bernt and Borghild Bruvall; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Ray and Adrienne Einarson; and brother-in-law Bert Bruvall.
Carol was born in Winnipeg, MB on January 5, 1939. She moved first to Kenora, ON and then to Fort William, ON. She graduated high school in 1957 and began her working career at Ontario Hydro in Port Arthur, ON. She married Jack Bruvall in April 1959 and moved to Ignace, ON, where she raised three children and began her long career in education as a teacher and elected member of the Ignace Public School Board. Carol moved with her children to Thunder Bay in 1972. She worked as secretary to the Bursar at Confederation College and began studying to become an accountant. She graduated in 1981 and was ultimately named an honorary life member of the Society of Management Accountants of British Columbia. Her career took her from Yellowknife, NT, to Cranbrook, BC to Victoria, BC where she finished her working life in the Office of the Solicitor General as Acting ADM in the Government of British Columbia. Upon retirement she moved her summer home to Calgary, AB and her winter home to Yuma, Arizona.
Carol loved life and lived it to the fullest. She faced adversity with courage and determination. She was a dedicated and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be most sorely missed.
