Obituary of James (Jim) Alfred SUTHERLAND

With great sadness we announce…
James (Jim) Alfred Sutherland, beloved husband for 49 years of Gail Jeanette Sutherland (nee Rigel) of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

Father of Mickey (Toni), Daryl (Janice) and Diane (Paul).
Grandfather of Toni Marie, Genny, Kyle, Derek, Danny, Lara and Justen.
Great-Grandfather of 9.

Survived by siblings Brian, Ross, Myret, Anne and Ruth.

Jim was predeceased by his first wife Genevieve (Genny) Irene Sutherland (nee Kachaluba), parents, Helen and Seath Sutherland, and siblings, John, Maxwell, Hugh, Shirley, Joan and Laverne.

Jim’s career in the Drilling Industry spanned several decades.  It included land-based and off-shore drilling from B.C. to Nova Scotia, and from Rainbow Lake to Houston.
He also spent years pursuing his true passion, participating in Standard Bred horse racing as an owner.
