Obituary of Marie Rose BREDO
December 14, 1930 – Calgary, Alberta
April 29, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta
Marie Bredo (nee Whitehead) passed away peacefully at the age of 89.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Tracey Horsley (David), Robert Bredo (Mary) and Taryn Krizan (Steve); her grandchildren, Aja Horsley (Kurtis), Amelia Bredo (Tom), Jacob Bredo and Madeleine Krizan (Brent), and her great-grandson Rhyver.
Marie grew up in the best place in the world - the Canadian Rockies. Her favourite mountain was Heart Mountain. She had a wonderful childhood in Exshaw with her sister Marion, her brothers Dick and Spud and her lifelong friend Helen. After she outgrew the schools there, she had the good fortune to go to high school in Banff. Later she moved to Calgary and met Harold, a dark-haired handsome man, from “Riverside.” They lived in Edmonton, had three children, and then moved back to Calgary where they remained.
Family was Marie’s main focus. She walked every day, loved to read and garden and was an excellent seamstress. Thanks to her friend Dorothy, singing became her favourite activity in her final years. Her quick wit stayed with her all her life.
The family would like to give special thanks for the professional and loving care she received at the Brentwood Care Facility.
Keeping with Marie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Marie’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
