Obituary of Dianne BARON (nee Jones)

BARON, Dianne (nee Jones)

It is with full hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dianne Lynn Baron (nee Jones) on Monday, April 6, 2020 in Vernon, BC.

"Perhaps the deepest reason why we are afraid of death is because we do not know who we are" - Sogyal Rinpoche

Dianne lived life on her own terms and knew who she was, humble and always willing to help others; even when she did not have herself.  Mom was an amazing cook; she liked nothing better than cooking for others and being outside in the BC wilderness. Her happy place was at the cabin with family, sitting outside doing Sudoku enjoying the honesty of her grandson telling her about life or helping to 'find' her leg.

Dianne is survived by her son Jason; grandson Jeffery; sisters, Dani (Danelle Barrington), and Lou (Debbie), brother Derrick; and nieces, Lindsey and Sydney. There is also a long list of friends who cared for her over the years. As Di taught us, there are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family.

At Dianne's request, no formal service will be held. Instead, an intimate, casual celebration of her life will be held at a later date with immediate family.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Dianne’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

If friends so desire, In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the British Columbia provincial Red Cross, Telephone: 1-800-418-1111, WeCare@redcross.ca. Their compassionate and professional care helped to transition Dianne with her limited mobility.

In living memory of  Dianne Baron, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th STREET SE, Calgary, AB T2Z 4E6, Telephone: 403-203-0525.
