Obituary of "Kay" Margaret Katherine COUTTS

Kay Coutts of Calgary, AB, died peacefully in the morning of Friday, May 8, 2020 at the age of 94 years, just one month short of her 95th birthday.
Kay enjoyed many passions, including her career as a physiotherapist. Upon her retirement as head of the physiotherapy unit at Calgary’s Colonel Belcher Hospital, she became even busier with her many other passions. She loved her golf and bridge at the Calgary Golf & Country Club. She played lots of bridge with her friends at the downtown Glencoe Club, the Ranchmen’s Club and at her friends’ homes. She died an Honourary Life Member of the Ranchmen’s Club. She was a world traveller and, closer to home, she frequently enjoyed her overnight trail rides and hiking through our Canadian Rockies. She was a big fan and supporter of Calgary’s Alberta Ballet and of Theatre Calgary.
Kay is survived by her niece Kay Torres (nee Robinson) and her nephew Fred Robinson. She was predeceased by her father, George Ballantine Coutts, her mother Alberta Coutts (nee Bastedo), and her brother David Bastedo Coutts.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Anglican Parish of Christ Church (3602 - 8th Street S.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks from Kay’s family go to the management and staff at AgeCare Seton in Calgary for their compassionate care of Kay over the past several years as she endured her final years of her Alzheimer’s condition.
