Obituary of Jean “Rose” Marie BEAVER

September 3, 1963 – Bighorn, Alberta
May 20, 2020 – Cochrane, Alberta

Rose Beaver was called home by our Creator on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of 56 years. 

“Every Rose” was employed by the Stoney Tribal Administration as a House Keeper, at the Nakoda Lodge in the 1990’s. Rose was a funny, humorous, gentle, kind, humble, quiet, respected woman. Rose believed in her culture and other religions, she was also a Sundance Dancer in her past life, she loved to hang out with her friends dearly. Rose has special people in her life, 2 special grandsons Koda Beaver and Olizus Powderface; 1 special granddaughter Shylen Rowen; 3 special nieces, Nate and Mel Beaver; Leilani Viveros.  Rose was a mother/grandmother to our children whom she truly cared for and really loved. Her passion was bead work, and she will be remembered for making the best bannock, she also enjoyed cleaning. 

Rose will be sadly missed by her brothers, Dallon (Mary Jane), Johnny Thomas from Tsuu T’ina, Nigel, Cameron, her sisters Alice, Thelma, Verna (Tyrone), Lorraine, Krista (Barry) and adopted sisters, Nancy Ear, Sandra Baptiste; adopted son Brandon TYmen; adopted brother Vidal Frencheater and special nephews, nieces, and cousins, Frances, Cecelia, Riva, Marlene, Mary (Glen), Floyd (Yolanda), Kenny House, Ethel, Darryl (Ina), David (Valerie); aunties, Mary Jane (Ena) Crane, Barbara Hunter, Evonne House, Virginia H., Evelyn (Jeff) H. and Dennette, Love, Rose, Mary, Emily, Florence and uncle Daney Firestoney from Hobbema; numerous uncles and aunties,  sisters-in-law, Winnie and Angie; relatives from Maskwacis, Sunchild, Bighorn, Morley EV. The family apologizes if we have missed anyone. 

Rose was predeceased by her parents, Father Nat House (1976), mother Sheila Beaver (1997); brothers, Stewart (1950), Preston James (1974), Ferlin (1981), Jess (2017), Melvin (2020); adopted brother Ross Shingoose (2015); sisters, Edna (2001), Helen (2005); and favourite brother-in-law, Ricky Mark Poucette (2020).

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Verna and Tyrone (Morley, AB) on Saturday, May 23, 2020.  Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Verna and Tyrone on Monday, May 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Rose’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

Rose’s family would like to thank the Canmore Hospital staff and Bethany Care Cochrane staff for their support and caring for our beloved sister, auntie, grandma, Jean Rosemarie Beaver.
