Ann MACMULLIN

Obituary of Ann MACMULLIN

September 29, 1946 – Sheffield, England
May 18, 2020 – Priddis, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann MacMullin (formerly Hebden, nee Weston), who died at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 73 years.

Ann was vivacious, kind, witty and quick to laugh. She was born in Ecclesfield, Yorkshire, England, and grew up with two sisters, Beryl and Kath and a brother Terry who all survive her. She immigrated to Canada with her then-husband David, and her daughter Corinne in 1975. Ann relocated to Calgary in 1978 and worked as a lease manager for Jack Carter Chev/Olds and Lone Star Mercedes Benz until her retirement.

In 1989, Ann and Hector married. They lived in Calgary, and then moved to Priddis and Canmore, where they enjoyed many years of country life together, in beautiful surroundings.

Always impeccably dressed, with her signature red fingernails, Ann loved to gather with family and friends. She was a warm and generous host who always made sure a good time was had by all.  She loved her cats, Tanne and Apollo, and, more recently, Max and Oscar who provided her with much comfort in her last few years. She loved to sing and performed in amateur theatre back home in England, and with Workshop Theatre in Calgary and Bragg Creek Players.

She was a fiercely protective mother to her daughter and a loving and playful grandmother. She was fond of travel and always enjoyed a glass of white wine.

We are thankful for those who stood by her in her final years when things became hard and dementia distorted the person she had been; especially her step-son Paul and his wife Deneen; her husband Hector, sister and brother-in-law Kath and Frank; and her caregiver Teresita.

Besides her loving husband, Hector, Ann is survived by her daughter Corinne; grandchildren, Lucy, Amber and Joseph; sisters, Kath and Beryl; along with many nieces and nephews.

Due to restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are planning to hold a celebration of life in September 2020.
