Obituary of John Michael CHUTSKOFF

December 6, 1927 – Kamsack, Saskatchewan
May 29, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

John Chutskoff of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the age of 92 years.

Beloved husband of sixty-eight years to Marjorie (nee Brodie), loving father of Colleen (Greg), Jo-Anne (Don), Sandra (Dan); proud grandfather to David, Anna, Stephen, Sarah, Robert and James; and a great-grandfather to eight; also a caring older brother to Fred Scott. He will be fondly remembered by his niece Audrey McKinney,great-niece Kathleen McKinney, nephew Wayne Hearonemus, and other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Jean Chutskoff and his sister Verna.

John was a well known and respected employee of Gulf Oil for over forty-five years, beginning his career as a Land Surveyor in Northern Alberta, then as a Landman in Edmonton, and finishing his career as a Senior Landman in Calgary, retiring in 1979.

John will be remembered for his passions of fly fishing, camping, RV travelling, gardening and his many creative building talents which were self taught. He truly loved nature and spent as much time as possible enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends. He will be fondly thought of for the love of his blue jeans, western shirts as well as his favourite expression "and Bob’s your uncle"!

A private family gathering will be held at a later date at the Liberal Church in Stettler, AB. Our family is grateful to all the caregivers and staff at AgeCare Glenmore for their excellent care of dad. Also, thank you to his daughter Sandra (Dan) for her endless hours of loving care and support over many years – very much appreciated by all.
