Obituary of Zephania Leah Nancy POUCETTE

It is with great sadness we announced the unexpected passing of our beloved granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, Leah Poucette on Saturday May 30, 2020 at the age of 32 years old.

Leah was a caring, loving and humorous person who enjoyed cooking and help look after her brother’s children. She’s athletic and enjoyed playing Slo-Pitch baseball in her younger years. Leah received her education at Morley Community School. Leah also received her Child Care Certificate and a Carpentry Certificate from

SAIT in 2015. She was employed with Stoney Day Care for four years.

Leah adored and loved her nieces and nephews. Leah will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family, common-law partner of eighteen years, Garrett Cecil; her brother Joel Fox; adopted sister; Kelmia Poucette; adopted brothers, Greg Shortneck and Eric Poucette; nieces; Kassie and Braylee, nephews; Kalius, Teiyo and Princeton; grandmother Maisie Poucette; maternal and paternal aunts, Valerie (David), Martina (Conrad), Angeline (Reginald), Mel (Jerome), Mary (Glen); Verna, Raquel (Leo), Petra (Peter), Shirley Poucette; paternal and maternal uncles, Marlon (Marilyn), Ivan (Faye), Darrell, Ben, Randall (Cynthia); mother-in-law Alnora Cecil; special cousins, Netteshia Fox, Kerry Poucette, Marcy Smalleyes; adopted aunties; Jaylette Hunter, Bernadette Kaquitts, Kasandra Labelle; grandmothers, Mina (Carl) Lefthand, Cassie (Charlie) Mark, Georgie Poucette, Doreen Poucette, Debbie Poucette, Norma Poucette, and Eldra (Brian) Snow; grandfathers, Glen Simeon and Joe Poucette; numerous relatives of the Poucette, Fox, Wesley, Abraham, Twoyoungmen, Wildman, Kaquitts, Dixon, Lefthand, Mark, Benjamin, McLean/Labelle, Simeon, Powderface and Young, as well as extended families and friends. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

Leah is predeceased by her mother Germaine Poucette in 2016; her father Aaron Fox in 1990; her paternal grandparents Joe Fox Jr (1982) and Clarabelle Fox (1988), maternal grandfather Norman Poucette (2019).

Wake Services will be held at the residence of the Late Germaine Poucette (Morley, AB) on Thursday, June 4, 2020 and Friday, June 5, 2020.  Funeral Services will be held at the residence of the Late Germaine Poucette (Morley, AB) on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Leah’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
