Obituary of Marguerite (Marg) Doreen MUNDEN

June 19, 1925 – Galt, Ontario
June 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Sadly Marguerite Doreen (Marg) Munden, 94, of Calgary, AB passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at South Health Campus.

Marg was born in Galt, ON to Lillian (nee Sargent) and Elijah Holtzhauer on June 19, 1925.

Marg enjoyed many experiences during her life as a military wife. She had many fond memories of her worldly travels and celebrations with her extended military family.

Marg enjoyed working in and out of the home and while on a second posting to Germany she even worked in a German patio furniture factory. After retiring from military life, Marg enjoyed attending Southminster and McDougal United Churches in Calgary and was an involved member where she developed many good friendships.
Along with visiting family and friends Marg was fond of reading, knitting, baking, jig saw puzzles and travelling.

Marg was a determined woman who loved her family so much that in 1957 she travelled with three small children by ship across the Atlantic Ocean to Germany where she reconnected with the love of her life, Reg. Marg will be very missed but she is now where she wants to be, back with Reg.

Marg was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Reg Munden. Marg is survived by her children, Debra (Rick) Nelson, Peter (Colleen) Munden, Gale (Hani) Baki and Bill Munden. She was loved by her grandchildren, Raegan (Derek) Grabo, Kyle Munden, Whitney (Nathan) BakiRose, Andrew (Ashley Rinkel) Munden, Sara Baki, Kyla Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Kloee And Wren Grabo, Cailin Munden, Adalynn and Harlan BakiRose.

Marg loved her husband and family (including all the pets) very much and easily shared with words and pictures how proud she was of each and every one.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Marg’s obituary at If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, or the charity of your choice.
