Obituary of Thomas Ron   KAQUITTS

It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin Thomas Ron Kaquitts on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the age of 37 years.

Thomas had strong beliefs in our traditions and culture, and had respect for ceremonies. Thomas had a passion for baseball and hockey, and especially for art. He was very talented and took pride in his paintings and drawings, a talent he inherited from his grandfather Sitting Wind Frank Kaquitts. Thomas was a quiet and humble person; he greeted everyone with a smile, a hug, and a handshake.

Thomas is survived by his loving mother Karen, his children, Frank, Tyson, Floydina, Cody, Jacob, and Akeesha; his siblings, Toni (Callen), Eric (Julene), Chental, and Clint (Tessa);  adopted sisters, Rolanda (Lonny) and Maryanne, uncle Frank H. (Gayleen), grandmother Elizabeth Twoyoungmen, aunties, Joanne, Denise, Vera (Martin), and Bernadette; his godmother Sandy, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; family and friends from the Kaquitts, Twoyoungmen, Holloway, Chiniquay, Wildman, Beaver, Smalleyes, Powderface, Dixon, Saddleback, Ashley, Soto, House, Ear, Morin, Roasting, Rattlesnake, Buffalo, Longclaws, Young, Baptiste, Labelle, Simeon, and Poucette; and relatives from Morley, Eden Valley, Hobbema, Enoch Cree Nation, Big Horn, and Alexander First Nations. The family apologizes if anyone was missed. 

Thomas was predeceased by his father Alister Twoyoungmen, uncles, Howard Twoyoungmen and Gerald Kaquitts; brother–in–law  Amos Axe, aunties, Doreen Kaquitts and Barbara K. Kaquitts; maternal grandparents, Frank and Kathleen Kaquitts; paternal grandfather Howard Ear Sr., cousins, Amanda Wildman Holloway, Tylan Poucette, Jeremy Kaquitts; and nephew Jacob Axe.  

Prayers Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Saturday, June 15, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Wake Services to follow at the residence of Eric Kaquitts (Morley, AB).  Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Eric Kaquitts (Morley, AB) on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Kaquitts Family Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Traditional Feast to follow at the residence of Eric Kaquitts.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Thomas’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
