Obituary of Nicola CONFORTI

October 1, 1932 – Noci Bari, Italy
June 10, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Nicola Conforti, of Foothills, AB    , passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the age of 87 years.

Nicola was born in Noci, Bari , Italy on October 1, 1932. He immigrated to Canada in 1958. Nicola married Chiara in 1960 and together had four loving daughters. He accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his own company, “Conforti Construction”. Nicola had a passion for his family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends and visited many destinations. Nicola will be most remembered for his strong work ethic, his gentle spirit, his radiant smile, and his ability to live a genuine life. 

Besides his loving wife Chiara, Nicola is survived by his three daughters and three sons-in-law, Maria and John Piotto of Foothills AB, Assunta and Gordon Dale of Calgary AB, and Lisa and Peter Zissos of Calgary AB; six grandchildren, David Piotto, Laura Dale (Jasica Grewal), Katelyn (Colton) Nickel, Alexander Dale, Krysten Zissos and Sydney Zissos; and two great-grandchildren, Ellie Nickel and Maverick Nickel.

Nicola is also survived by his sister Cenzina (Mario) Fatalino of Italy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 
He will be greatly missed and his legacy will live on forever in our hearts. 

The family wishes to thank all of Nicola’s amazing Specialists and Family Doctors over the years, The Foothills Home Care Team, The Paramedics and Staff at the South Campus Hospital for all of their diligent and caring work over the years. Each of you contributed to giving Nicola a comfortable life, allowing him to reach the milestone he did. Thank you for your dedication to your professions.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
