Obituary of Nancy Elizabeth JOHNSON (nee Dalton)

December 9, 1936 – Montreal, Quebec
June 21, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Elizabeth Johnson of Calgary, AB, beloved wife of the late Ronald Johnson passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the age of 83 years.

Nancy was born and raised in Montreal, and in her early years she worked for Bell Canada, where she met her husband. They settled in Dorval, QC where she became a contributing part of the community and developed multiple lifelong friendships. She contributed many hours working for the Dorval figure skating Club playing music and working on their ice shows. She also ran the community pool canteens for several years and was honoured by the city for her contributions prior to relocating to Calgary to join her family. 
She cherished the friendships and bonds that came from her time in  Dorval and had fond memories of activities and events that included weekly bowling, dinners out, the occasional movie and getting together to celebrate birthdays.

She loved to bake and play cards games and enjoyed watching game shows on TV, as well as sports.

It was important for her to stay in touch with family, and friends and loved a good chat on the phone, and especially enjoyed her talks with her lifelong friend and cousin Climar Hindle. 

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and love her.

We will love you forever and miss you for always and in our hearts you will forever stay. Until we meet again! 

Nancy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, David (Jennifer) Johnson, and Karen (Shaun) D’Alessandro; along with her loving grandchildren, Devon, Nathan and Briana. Nancy will also be missed by her sisters, Carol and Gail Dalton, and brother John (Kathy) Dalton; her nephew Cory and nieces, Amy and Amanda.

We will celebrate Nancy’s life at the McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. For friends and family unable to attend who would like to be apart of Nancy’s Celebration of Life can join us to attend and view. RSVP for Zoom details.
