Obituary of Joan Carol SONOQUI

September 19, 1941 – Seaforth, Ontario

June 22, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Joan Sonoqui of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at the age of 78 years.

 

Joan was born in Seaforth, Ontario. In 1950, she moved to Millarville, AB with her family and in 1964, moved to Los Angeles, CA. She resided in Los Angeles until 2016, when she retired and moved back to Canada to be close to her family. Joan will be most remembered for her kindness and her big heart.

 

Joan is survived by her two daughters, Lynne Pire (John), and Lori Pire (Dave); son George Pire (Karen), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Lillian Bradley (Howard), Robert Haney (Pat), and Peggy Durand (Shorty) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, Bert and Vera Haney.

When tomorrow starts with out me

Please try to understand

That an angel came and called my name

And took me by the hand

 

The angel said my place was ready

In heaven far above

And That I would have to leave behind

All those I Dearly Love

 

But When I walked through Heaven’s Gates

I felt so much at home

For God looked down and smiled at me

And told me “Welcome Home”
