George Garvie, beloved husband of the late Pauline Garvie (nee Houlihan), of Calgary, AB passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

George graduated as a motor vehicle mechanic in January 1959. He was employed at various garages, including GSL Chev City for twenty-four years. He will be remembered for his automotive technician skills, “George could fix anything automotive related.”

George married Pauline October 12, 1959. He was very passionate about the Irish Water Spaniels he and Pauline owned and loved over the years. Pauline and George had many memorable vacations to Hawaii, as well as, England, Scotland, Ireland and the Maritimes.

George will always be remembered for his quick wit and willingness to assist anyone in need.

George is survived by his sister Jean Bissell, niece Judy Bissell (Lee), nephews, Stephen Bissell (Karen) and Garvie Bissell; as well as many great-nieces and nephews, many cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Pauline and brother-in-law Dobby Bissell.

Given the current restrictions on travel and social gathering due to COVID-19, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
