Obituary of Anneliese (Anna) PEAL

March 3, 1937 – July 8, 2020

Anna Peal of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the age of 83 years.

Anna was born in Germany and during the course of her life lived in Germany, Kenya, Aden, England, and finally for the last nine years in Calgary, AB. Anna served the British Government in a long and successful career with the Civil Service.

After moving to England in 1972, Anna met her soulmate and husband, Arthur and they lived for many happy years in Didcot (Oxon) prior to moving to Canada in 2011. Anna and Arthur were together for forty-eight years.

As successful as she was in so many areas, Anna will be most remembered for her million megawatt smile that could light up a room, her charisma and the sound of her joyful laughter.

Anna is survived by her husband Arthur, and children, Phyllis (Alberta), David (France), Nicola and Patricia (England). Anna was also the proud grandmother of Alice (predeceased), Simon, Madeleine, Lewis, Sophie and James. Anna is also mourned by her sister Anita and brother-in-law Franz of Austria, and many other family members in England and Germany.

A private Funeral Service will be held for family and friends, with a public Celebration of Life planned for a later date, once pandemic restrictions are lifted. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Anna’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Foundation for Seniors’ Care (Canadahelps.org CR: 872875703RR001) or a charity of your choice.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes especially to the wonderful staff and caregivers at the Chinook Hospice. With their care and devotion during the past six weeks, Anna’s last days were comfortable, and filled with peace and love.

In living memory of Anneliese Peal, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis and Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
