Obituary of Ella BOBY

February 24, 1925 – Weyburn, Saskatchewan
May 4, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

We are saddened to announce our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Jean Boby (nee Stibbard) passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the age of 95 with her devoted daughter Jane by her side.  

Jean was born in Weyburn, SK and resided most of her life in Calgary.  She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan and continued on to complete a second degree in Library Science at the University of Toronto.  During her studies she made many life-long friends. 

While living in Calgary and working at the Associate Medical Clinic library, Jean met her husband John Boby and soon became the devoted mother of three daughters.

Jean enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Lisa, Rob and Alana and the many family BFF’s (Boby Family Functions).  She looked forward to annual family vacations at St. Ives on the Shuswap Lake where the days were spent boating and picnicking. 

Jean was a life-long learner spending her spare time reading and researching while enjoying her cup of tea.  Mom was able to travel to see her daughter Kathy and family while living in Pakistan and went with Jane and Brent on many vacations. 

Jean is survived by her three daughters, Kathy, Diane and Jane (Brent).  She was predeceased by her parents John and Evelyn Stibbard, her husband John, her brother Alec and son-in-law Larry Garth.

She was cremated on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.  A private family celebration will be held at a later date.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Jean’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
