Obituary of Sharon Rose PROCTER

August 17, 1940 – Brooks, AB March 5, 2018 – Calgary, AB Sharon Procter (nee Maguire), of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the age of 77 years following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her sons Ross (Bonnie) and Keith (Bidisha), and daughter Cindy (Patrick), as well as her eight cherished grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, and her parents, Vernon and Irene. Sharon attended nursing school in Edmonton (EGH ’61) and nursed in Winnipeg, Las Vegas, and in Calgary at the Foothills Hospital. Sharon loved being a nurse and gained a deep sense of satisfaction from helping those in need of care throughout her 47 year long nursing career. Sharon’s greatest joy was her family, and she especially loved being a grandmother. She delighted in time spent baking, gardening, and crafting with her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and aides that cared for her through her illness, as well as the friends and family that supported her. Special thanks go to Dr. Simmons at Rockyview General Hospital, and Dr. Albuquerque and the staff at Southwood Hospice for their excellent care.
