Obituary of Anton BREMEN

Anton Bremen, beloved husband of Betty passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the age of 82 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters Sandra (Paul) and Iris (Kevin); grandchildren, Jesse (Shawna- Malachi, Quinn and Doyle) Kurt, Kerry (Brad- Eammon), Kristina (David), Katrina, Kathryn and Kalista. Tony is also survived by his sister Anneliese, sister-in-law Anni in Germany; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Hubert and Rosa, and brother Hubert.
After finishing baking school in Aachen, he worked and travelled in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In 1959 he met his adored Betty. They married a year later then immigrated to Calgary, Canada the following week. Tony was a successful entrepreneur; his many ventures included bakeries, real estate, and land development. But working in the bakery was always his favourite. He loved creating new and creative recipes. Tony’s sausage rolls were known and loved by all.
Tony and Betty went on many holidays, camping, cruises, resorts and driving trips, they enjoyed them all. Their most memorable was a lovely 50th anniversary trip through Europe. Tony loved the mountains and would often go for the scenic drive to Banff for the afternoon. He really appreciated the outdoors. After he retired, he relished gardening and woodwork. But most of all he loved his time with his Betty, his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface German Catholic Church (1923 Broadview Road N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
