Condolences
To Stephen, Justin and all of Janice's family, I cannot express how saddened I am to learn of Janice's passing. She was a hard worker, and was gifted at so many things - teaching, art, music. She was articulate in a way I could never be, and I enjoyed discussions with her and listening to her expression of insights. But what I will miss most is her compassion, her sense of humour, and her laugh. We were both horse crazy girls that met "at Mr. Gonnet's" and I have fond memories of us both being doubled over with laughter over some of the zany situations we found ourselves in ("the skunk" is one of my favourites). She will be so very, very missed.
Love,
Liana
Heather and I were very sorry to learn of Janice's passing. She along with her son, Justin, brought a lot of joy into Stephen's life. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

STEPHEN and Family , Both Frances and I were sadden to hear the passing of Janice. Our deepest heartfelt condolences to you Stephen, Family members and the countless friends and students that were so much a part of Janice's life and experiences. I remember meeting her for the first time years ago and noting her love of life , expressions of friendship, and helping others.
She was a star in our eyes. May prayers bring You and Family the peace that Janice is in the hands of our Lord
Stephen, words fail at a time like this to adequately express how sorry I am to read of you wife Janice’s passing. I never had the pleasure of meeting Janice, but from reading the very beautiful and loving obituary I am able to get a sense of the very kind, talented and loving person she was. It is also very clear from reading it, how important she was to you, and to your son Justin, and how much she was loved by both of you, and by the rest of her family. I am sure the future looks very uncertain and sad right now, but I hope you are able to concentrate on memories of wonderful times with her as you work through the days ahead, and rely on your strong faith that she is safely in heaven, and that you will see her again.

I am sad for your loss. Every time I had the pleasure of seeing Janice she exuded so much gentle goodness and a happiness that clearly evidenced a remarkable and beautiful soul.
Sad and shocking to hear this news. Deepest sympathy to Stephen and family. It is obvious that Janice contributed greatly to help Stephen become the excellent and caring lawyer that I have known for many years. So Sorry.

Dear Stephen, Justin and the family,
Please accept my condolences on the tragic loss of Janice. Janice and I grew up together in Westlock and attended same schools for many years. We took piano lessons together from the O'Shaughnessy family for years. Janice and I attended the U of Alberta and my fondest, but sadly last, memory of Janice was when Lister Hall life got too crazy for us, we'd meet in the music room of Lister and spend time playing piano duets together. Life took us in different directions, coincidentally both ending up in Calgary but unbeknownst to each either. Janice was always bright, cheerful, full of life and ready/willing to help others. Even though I've not seen her in decades, she is in my thoughts today and so are you. May the good Lord grant you comfort.
Sincerely, Larry Marks.
Stephen,
I am saddened to hear about the unexpected loss of your wife Janice. You are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

My sympathies and prayers for Janice's family. Janice was a mentor for me in many ways. Mostly she knew how to smile and always shared her love. Janice supported me in learning to play the organ for St. Mary Parish in Westlock. She had great faith and a commitment to teaching. She was very close to my Dad and often played when he was in the choir. I remember she would gross us out by eating earthworms. She loved her horses.
You can now rest in heaven. Cousin Rita (Renaud) Pfefferle
Dear Stephen and Justin,
Doug and I are profoundly shocked and saddened by the passing of Janice. Even though we were neighbors for only a few years, her warmth and kindness made a deep impression. I will never forget how during the year of the flood, Janice came over in the pouring rain to help bail water from our patio. I enjoyed our coffees and visits and only wish there had been more. We can’t imagine the pain you are suffering and our hearts and prayers goes out to you.
With deepest sympathies,
Doug and Linda Reid
