Obituary of Leonard WRIGHT

April 4, 1933 – St. John, New Brunswick
July 29, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Len Wright on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

Born in St. John, New Brunswick, raised in Beaver Harbor, Len began work with Scotiabank at age nineteen and was a forty-year employee. His banking career took him to many locations in Canada, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, British Columbia and Alberta. He was also in London, England where he was the Manager of the Barclay Square Branch. Len settled in Calgary in 1979 and retired in 1992 as International Trade Services Manager for Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Len loved all sports, especially golf and was the proud owner of a hole in one during a Provincial Men’s Championship at Willow Park Golf and Country Club. Len coached his children in baseball, fastball and hockey, and he loved to attend his grandchildren’s sports activities. He will be remembered for his kindness, his pleasant smile and mostly for his love of family.

Len is survived by his loving wife Joan, his daughter Kathleen (Mark), his son Greg; Joan’s children, Geoff (Carrie) and Jody (Paul); and by his grandchildren, Luci (Maverick) Georgia, Robin, Molly, Sam, Joshua, Jacob, Hayden, Paulina and Abigail. He was predeceased by his first wife Carol, his son Bradley and his parents Jessie and Annie.
