Obituary of Brandie Joy Carmel VEEDER-BRONEY

October 16, 1975 – Calgary, Alberta

July 18, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Brandie  Joy Carmel Veeder-Broney of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the age of 44 years.

Brandie was born in Calgary, she loved to write stories, and this was one of her passions.

Her mother Sharon remembers their greatest holiday time was going to the coast in the interior of Vancouver camping. Brandie loved to swim and enjoyed the camping.

She was a member of Calgary East Church of the Nazarene. During her life she had a great passion for other people. She was known to reach out to anybody when they were down. She had an aptitude for listening and caring for others.

This is not to say that there were many times Brandie didn’t go through difficult times, but even in her brokenness she still made time for others. She reached out to many children and youth. From things she had gone through she had compassion and felt their pain. At times life overtook Brandie and overwhelmed her  in theses times she still found time to reach out to others. In recent times she had developed a ministry to street people. There were times she reached out in serious circumstances and saved the lives of some of these people. EMS attendants were known to say, “Well Brandie, you saved another one.”

This love and compassion was also witnessed in Brandie’s love for animals.  Even in the last few years when her physical problems (trigeminal neuralgia, one of the severest cases in the world) she was reaching out.

Brandie is survived by her six children, Micheal, Mitchell, Daniel, Nicholas, Amanda and Avery; her mother Sharon; her sister Candace (Rodney); and Casey her children’s father. She was predeceased by  her father Ralph; and her twin brothers David and Darcy.

Till we meet again!
