When I think of Kim, the first thing that comes to mind is a true gentleman, salt of the earth and would always welcome you with a big bright smile. When I met Kim and Jacquie (his Bride) 17 years ago, I was newly in a relationship with my Husband and they both made me feel so comfortable and part of their circle. I quickly recognized what a huge impact Kim had on Tim’s life as a colleague, friend, and mentor with great wit and this magnetic personality. Even though he was Tim’s boss at the time, he treated everyone as an equal and that was the type of leader he was.
It was very apparent Kim’s Bride, children and grandchildren were number one and his pride and joy, not to mention all of his animals, vehicles and the farm. We have so many memories of curling with Kim and Jacquie in the earlier years in Strathmore, to visiting the farm while Audrey was alive, to swapping “dates” to attend Encana Christmas parties (which is where Tim and I became known as “my Date” ….. me Kim’s, and Tim as Jacquie’s). I could always count on Kim’s opening line to me being is “How is my date doing, and how is blue eyes?” His sincerity was heartwarming, wanting to know about our family, and excited to exchange stories about our grandchildren and fur-babies. I am forever grateful for welcoming my Mom and I to the Farm during a road trip a few years back, as we were passing through Salmon Arm. Taking us in and offering us wonderful meals including homegrown vegetables from the farm.
We have so many memories but the one that stands out is a visit to the farm when Kim took all of us (Jacquie, Audrey, Tim and I) for a drive up a bumpy mountain road that we thought would never end…………now looking back at the gorgeous photos it was worth every bump in the road. This is a true representation of our friend Kim, you have to get through many bumps in the road, to truly appreciate the beautiful moments in life, and I do believe Kim had many. The last visit we had to the Farm, I remember thinking a farm is so much work. But every time I would see Kim with his horses or on his tractor a tear would come to my eyes because I knew that was his true calling from many years ago.
We are forever grateful for the opportunity to have a visit with Kim and Jacquie this past winter, and being the person Kim was, he had such a positive outlook towards his illness, and spoke openly about how his lovely female doctor was approaching treatments. He gave us the impression he was going to truly LIVE until the very end, and being a fellow "Scorpio" with that Scottish pride and determination, he did not want to be treated like someone who was ill or suffering! We had such an amazing visit and shared many laughs that evening and will treasure those moments forever. We are blessed to have been within his circle and are richer both emotionally and spiritually because of him. You are a Legend in our hearts “My Date”, and the endless amount of Kim Currie stories will live on forever………..
Our Sincerest Love and Condolences to Jacquie (Tim’s date), Duce, Dallas, Cate, Chris, spouses, grandchildren, great grand baby and extended family.

Sending condolences to my Western Family. We are thinking about you all, and know what a loss Kim will be to ALL of US. We have great memories of our trips to Varadero, Cuba, memories we will never forget. The Smile you had when you were driving Eurique's Horse and Buggy down the street of Varadero. Even though there were miles between us you were always a Very Special Cuz.
