Obituary of Joan Dorrington MURAYAMA

March 3, 1944 – Regina, Saskatchewan September 24, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Joan beloved wife of Kaz Murayama of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Joan was born in Regina, SK and graduated from Oakridge Secondary School in London Ontario. Joan worked for the Calgary School Board as a Lunch Room Supervisor, a job she enjoyed very much. One of Joan’s primary support groups has been grounded with her friends at Holy Trinity Anglican church. She is blessed to have many close friends from this community that she has been a part of for over 30 years. Joan was known for her amazing crafting skills and love of puzzles. She attended weekly bible studies for many years which she rarely missed. She was blessed to connect with many different friends on a regular basis over many glasses of coffee or wine. She loved spending time with her family and friends at her trailer spot located in Tall Timber, Sundre. Joan will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was always thinking of others in her regular activities to provide a meal or help when needed. Joan’s most memorable vacation was when she visited nine to twelve countries in Europe in 2008 and Japan over on several visits which were exciting and memorable adventures! Besides her loving husband, Joan is survived by her son Scott (Megan); grandchildren, Evan and Abby; and her dog Angel. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Mabel and Harold Kelly; and her brother Bob Kelly. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
