Obituary of Anne Merete Valentin VESTERGAARD (nee Nielsen)

August 15, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Anne-Merete Vestergaard of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 77 years.

Anne-Merete was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 10, 1942, where she later met and married Flemming Verstergaard on December 02, 1958.  She then immigrated to Calgary, AB, in 1965.

Anne-Merete enjoyed skiing in her earlier years, golfing in the later years, and socializing with friends and family.  She loved spending summers in Penticton, BC, and enjoyed her most memorable vacation in Maui, with her family in 2014.

Anne-Merete accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of running the family business, “Flemming Hair Styles”.  She will be most remembered for her beautiful smile and her wonderful personality, which made everyone feel special.

Anne-Merete is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Helle and Peter Christensen, and Louise and Darren Kladnik, of Calgary, AB; her three granddaughters, Emely Christensen, Mia Kladnik, and Emma Kladnik, of Calgary, AB; and her extended family in Denmark.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Flemming Vestergaard, her parents, Marie Aabo Hansen and Frederik Valentin; and brother Ole Valentin.
