Obituary of Cleo Ann REIMER

July 6, 1950 -  Rimbey, Alberta
August 20, 2020 - Calgary, Alberta

Cleo Ann Reimer, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the age of 70 years.

Cleo was born in Rimbey, AB, on July 6, 1950 to Sylvester and Irene Penhaligon.  She grew up in Uranium City, SK, and spent majority of her life in Calgary where she raised her three daughters as a single mother.

Cleo loved to play cards and bingo, build puzzles, bowl, cook, bake, play baseball with the Challenger’s Little League and watch hockey. She has been a Calgary Hitmen season ticket holder for many years.

Cleo suffered an unfortunate accident in 1991 that eventually required her to have full time care. This never stopped her from enjoying her life and getting to do the things she wanted. With her caregivers she was able to see the world. She has travelled to Disneyland, Las Vegas, Reno, Maui and even the Philippines.

She will be most remembered for her feisty, stubborn personality, but also her genuine, and loving heart.  Cleo had a lot of love for those who cared for her and most of all, for her daughters and grandchildren. She loved being around family and just listening in on all the conversations.

Cleo is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Candace and Mike Avramenko of Airdrie, Patricia and Mike Hamm of Red Deer and Carmelita Reimer of Calgary; five grandchildren, Jerrett Avramenko of Calgary, Samantha (Kyle) Baumgardner of Airdrie, Kayla (Jeff) Diep of Red Deer, Dakota Vick of Red Deer and Bryer Hamm of Red Deer; two great-grandchildren, Tyrek and Davrik Diep of Red Deer. Cleo is also survived by her brother Murray (Gail) Penhaligon of Strathmore and her sister Eunice (Frank) Wilson of Drumheller; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cleo was predeceased by her mother Irene, her father Sylvester and her two sisters, Sylvia and Carol.
