Obituary of George Alfred William WALTERS

October 25, 1928 – Saint Boniface, Manitoba
August 27, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

George Walters, beloved husband of Marion Walters (nee Kellsey) of Calgary, AB, passed away on August 27, 2020 at the age of 91 years, after 66 years of marriage.

George was born in Saint Boniface, MB, on October 25, 1928. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces on Jan 27, 1947, served in Korea, and was stationed in Germany, Cyprus, Golan Heights and throughout Canada, including Winnipeg, Vancouver and Calgary.  After retirement from the forces, George worked for Maclin Ford and later for Calgary Transit before final retirement in 1993.

George’s most memorable vacation was a Hawaiian Cruise and he will be most remembered for volunteering for Hitman Hockey Home Games.

Besides his loving wife Marion, George is survived by his two daughters, Debra Ann and Wendy Lynn Marie, of Calgary, AB.

George is also survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Madeline of Oakville, ON, and James and Ingrid of Calgary, AB; his beloved dogs, Belle, Buddy and Buster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

George was predeceased by his daughter Linda Gail Walters, his parents, Yvonne and George Walters; his brother Kenneth Walters, and two sisters, Marguerite Walters and Rita Mitchell.

Graveside  Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, 24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on George’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
