Condolences
I wish to pass on my belated condolences to Syds Family on his passing.
Syd was my boss at MGM. I worked with Louie Lichinski in booking. I was 21. Louie showed me the ropes of creating bookings in these giant books which contained all our available movies. Most. Of which I had not seen but I learned from Syd and Louie as well as the bookers at Ketnor & Ross what were bad, good and great movies. Elvis was the hottest in every small town in Alberta and Saskatchewan. It was exciting and Syd was always so kind and helpful. Syd had a major effect teaching me booking and sales and negotiating contracts with theatre and drive inn customers. I loved the business and Syd made it great for me. This job looked great on my resume and opened new job opportunities. I was caught at the time MGM was sold. We all had to find new jobs. Thank you Syd! You were very kind to me. The staff at MGM were wonderful to me too. God Bless and comfort Syds family.
I am very sad to hear of Syd passing away. I worked with him for many years in the film industry. He was a tough salesman, but a real gentleman with a kind heart. My condolences to his family. He will be truly missed.
My deepest sympathy
