Condolences
Randy, you leave us with sadden hearts but with such rich and wonderful memories. My Dad, Dave, and I always looked forward to the annual pilgrimage to Delia with great anticipation. From the smile as we greeted at Calgary Airport to the farewells on our way back to Toronto and all the great wines, meals, stories, fun and laughter in between. You enriched our lives and we thank you for your friendship. We will always remember “Ahhhh Delia”, think of you, and the special times together with great friends.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Jack,
We want you to know that our love and prayers have gone up before Father, for you and your family as you have lived through this past month.

MR SMITH! You were the best of friends, hunting and fishing partners for over 30 years. Your sheer joy in seeing, learning and experiencing stuff made every minute with you a joyous one. We hit the road to Delia in your old Chevy van so many times, shared the evolution of Ahhhh Delia that came to capture the hundreds of different camp experiences from 30 below to ice fogs and blizzards to 8 guys sharing a 1959 Haut Brion in Reidel stemware in a construction shack on the top of the hand hills. We looked forward to your eastern visits….fishing at The Caledon Mountain Trout Club , a few days in our city home or church or cottage while you dropped off game from last years hunt. Then you and Annie would be off to Howe Island or PEI…..always another adventure to be embraced and shared.
We miss you my friend.
Terry Rumsey
My most sincere condolences to all of the Family and Friends of Randy Smith. Forever thankful for his friendship, happy to have been a part of his ever expanding circle of friends; and super thankful to Randy for bringing me into the hunting camp brethren! We mourn his loss and celebrate who he truly was. Will be there to Celebrate his Life on Friday.
Randy, you were a great colleague and an even better friend. Whatever you tackled it was with endless passion and energy.
As all would agree, you were the heart and soul of the hunt club, the annual November gatherings at Delia will never be the same but my friend, you will always be with us every step of the way.
Heartfelt condolences to your loved ones Randy, you will be greatly missed.
My condolences to all Randy’s loved ones. Randy and I met through a Meetup group called Calgary Nature Lovers; such an appropriate group for him. We became friends through Kathy Erickson and spent many enjoyable times together. He was a wonderful man always willing to help his friends. His smile and joy of life was contagious.
My condolences to Randy’s sons, family and friends. I knew Randy when I worked for Parks Canada in the Contracts section of the Calgary office. I also ran into him a few times when I worked in the Admin Building on the T’suu Tina Reserve. He always had a smile on his face and a great story to tell. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear Theresa, Dan and Ryan:
So sorry for your loss. I am happy that Scott and I will be able to participate in the celebration of Randy’s life. Thinking of you .
Susan
Very sad indeed. I wish to offer condolences to Randy’s family. He was a great guy who always laughed at my jokes in the Parks Canada, Western Regional Office. I have fond memories of him. Rest in Peace Randy.
Theresa, Dan and Ryan
Merlin and I want you to know that we are thinking of you at this time. We will cherish the good memories we have of Randy. We still think of our camping trip out west, the trip to the Stampede and the great walks on the hiking trails. I still remember putting my feet in Lake Louise. Of course it is hard to forget the day Randy and Merlin took off in the pouring rain saying they were searching for indoor accommodations for all of us and left you and I with the two babies for the day. Dan, you and Andrew had a great time rolling around the tent. It was so wet your Mom and I could do nothing but sit under the tent flap on a log and let you guys roll about.
Sorry that we can not join you at this time but know you are not forgotten.
Margie
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. A caring hug from Truusje
