Obituary of Nadine BROWN

May 3, 1930 – Cardston, Alberta February 19, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Nadine Brown (nee Holland) passed away suddenly on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the age of 87 years at Father Lacombe Nursing Care Centre. Nadine was born on May 3, 1930 in Cardston, Alberta. She grew up in Raymond, Alberta where she met and married Elden Brown. They lived on a farm on the Milk River Ridge South of Raymond. Nadine and Elden moved their family to Calgary in 1964 where their fifth child, Kelly was born. About 1993, they sold their house in Lakeview and moved to Foremost, then Pincher Creek, and then Strathmore. Nadine and Elden spent many years as campground hosts. She was happiest surrounded by family and friends while camping, quilting, dancing, stampeding, listening to country music and watching sports, especially curling and hockey – the Calgary Flames. In 2010, Elden and Nadine moved into long term care in Carmangay and then Calgary. Nadine will be remembered by her five children, Ronald Brown (Barb), Gail Langley (Mike), Lorinda Crouch (John), Perry Brown (Candice), and Kelly Brown; grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Jodie Boudreau (Trevor), Ashley Farewell (Jesse), Ian Langley, Jessica Raynor, Nikki Raynor, Scott Brown, and Jacquilyn Brown; great-grandchildren, John Farewell, Alexandra Farewell, Olivia Boudreau, and Isabelle Boudreau; sisters Pat Kirkham and Gelane Collin; brothers, Wayne Holland (Joyce), Jay Holland (Geri), and Lowell Holland (Sandy); sisters-in-law Vivian Davies (Bud), and Velda Brown; friend to the end Eileen Jones (from Midnapore Ward- Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and health care workers who loved her fun loving spirit and sense of humour. She was predeceased by her husband G. Elden Brown; grandson Noel Raynor; and son-in-law Joe Cooper (Kelly). Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
