Obituary of Mary RAYMOND

April 18, 1929 – Bladworth, Saskatchewan
August 29, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Mary Raymond passed away peacefully at Swan Evergreen Village in Calgary, AB, at the age of 91, after a short battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Bladworth, SK. She lived in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Biggar, and then Calgary. She worked in the Biggar Medical Clinic, Saskatoon Sears, and was a Home Care Aid in Calgary, until she was 71. Mary will be remembered for her humour and wit. She had a flair for fashion and jewellery…dressing up even when she went for her long daily walks. Mary was strong willed, she was an avid sports fan and listened to all the games on her tiny transistor radio. She loved her cat, Hudler, named after her favorite Flames hockey player. She enjoyed spending time with family and chatting to people on the phone.

Mary is survived by her four children, Bonnie (Jim), Carol (Syl), Linda (Bob) and Calvin; sister Flo (Keith), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William John Naconechny (Bill) in 1973 and brothers, Mike, Willy and Johnny.

A private family gathering will be held in Saskatoon at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Mary’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB  T2C 2T7, Telephone: (403)205-4455, www.calgaryhumane.ca.

Special thanks to Dr. P. Keegan, the Alberta Health Care Palliative Team - especially Sarah and Mackenzie and the staff at Swan Evergreen Village for their kindness and care.
