Obituary of Audrey Grace Louise PLAXTON

March 19, 1931 – Prince Albert, Saskatchewan

August 23, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Audrey Plaxton passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

The second of six children, Audrey was born in Prince Albert, SK to William (Bill) and Augusta (Gussie) Plaxton.  While living most of her adult life in Alberta, first in Calgary and later in Canmore, she retained strong ties to Saskatchewan and loved her summer visits to Waskesiu Lake. Audrey was a teacher, a calling shared by many of her siblings. Her teaching career began in Saskatchewan in the 1950s. For most of her career she was an educator with the Calgary Board of Education and Mount Royal College in Calgary.

As reflected in her passion for teaching, Audrey loved meeting and interacting with people. She was an avid traveler and loved music and dance.  She is fondly remembered for her energy and youthful spirit, her sense of style, and her warm-hearted regard for everyone she met.  Memories of her grace and generosity will live on in the hearts of family, friends and colleagues.

She is survived by her sisters Muriel Avery and Jean Midyette (Bob) and her brothers Gordon Plaxton and John Plaxton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her brother Bob Plaxton (Ann Louise).
